ART AND CREATIVE BUSINESS WORKSHOP
Meet with other art & creative businesses to discuss struggles, successes, tips and resources. Professional advice and feedback from Coy Ink
Are you struggling with the ins and outs of starting or continuing a successful art business? Do you wish you could ask someone basic questions to help you avoid hours of research and banging your head on your desk in frustration? Questions like how to use square/credit card payments, how to approach retail stores and galleries, wholesale vs consignment vs shops vs booths, sales tax, business registration? Or just give you tips on local groups and opportunities happening in your community?
This workshop is customized to meet you at whatever stage you’re in with your art or creative business. The class size will be a max of 10 people in a similar situation to yourself. This provides the opportunity to learn from and lean on your fellow classmates and their experiences.
I’ll spend time ahead of the class gathering info and research before the class starts to answer your questions and provide resources to help you get started. If you still want more one-on-one help after the class I’m offering art career counseling starting at $150/mo or on demand sessions for $75/hr.
Fill out the questionnaire below to complete your registration and help me prepare answers and information for you ahead of the class! I look forward to meeting you!
YOUR INSTRUCTOR- RACHEL COURTNEY
Rachel Courtney has been interested in designing and creating art from a young age. She has been making hand-made jewelry, blankets and scarves for decades and recently started painting. She started crocheting in 2000 and has been making blankets for Project Linus ever since. She launched her Etsy store for Pretty Nice Creations in 2010 and has grown her online selling from scarves and blankets to a wide variety of crafts and graphic design work. She enjoys giving crafting classes – alcohol ink, jewelry making, painting and more.
Rachel received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications in 2003 and a certificate in digital graphics technology in 2004. Her love of the simple beauties in life led to the founding of her graphic design company, Pretty Nice Creations where she can share her designs with the world. Beyond her graphics and textile work, Rachel is an accomplished photographer and marketing expert who helps local businesses grow their reach online and off.
