The Firehouse Art Center curates twelve unique exhibitions a year mixing solo and group shows. In keeping with our mission, our exhibitions are a diverse blend of traditional and contemporary styles that intersperse the work of local, regional and national artists. The Firehouse Art Center hosts TWO Residencies each year, working in the South Gallery before a culminating solo exhibition in the Main Gallery with the opportunity to guest curate the accompanying South Gallery show.

The Artist Occupied program at the Firehouse Art Center is intended as a professional development opportunity for emerging and experienced visual artists.Bring you work to a new creative level as you connect visitors to working artist environments and processes.

Previous resident artists include Heather Kegel, Sean Faling, Jessica Forrestal, Chris Blume, Kaitlyn Tucek, Roberta Restaino, Chelsea Gilmore, Barbara Rudlaff, Amy Hoagland, Janelle Anderson, Jono Wright, Nancy Eastman, Makenzie Davis and Amy Lummus.

Residency Details:

  • Selected Artists are asked to work in the space for at least ten hours per week (five hours, two days a week) during open gallery hours (Wednesday to Sunday 12-5pm), to allow community interaction.
  • One piece of original work will be donated to the Firehouse for inclusion in the annual Gala auction.
  • Schedule at least three public events (workshop, artist talk) to engage the community with your concepts, materials or process. Workshop fees will be paid to the artist.

As artists sometimes we collect art supplies and then we need to purge. This Artist Studio Garage Sale is that… and more!
Artist Studio Garage Sale provides a chance for art collectors, budding artists, and anyone with an appreciation for art to acquire original pieces and materials without breaking the bank.
Cash is king. While many artists might be taking credit/debit cards, Venmo, or PayPal, like any garage sale, cash is the preferred form of payment.
It’s part art market (art pieces will be fore sale), part studio tool sale, part garage sale, all fun!

You bring art supplies, small art pieces (nothing above $100, larger pieces accepted with approval)
10% of sales to the Firehouse
We: Provide space, table (6 ft. table space per artist) and marketing
You: Share with your network, submit a few photos of what you are selling, then bring your stuff, set up your stuff, sell your stuff, bring everything home when you are done, send us 10% of your sales when the event is done.
