Just starting to print and show her self taught creations in 2016, Deb has won Special Merit awards from the Light Space & Time online juried exhibitions for three of her digital photo creations. Her first public showing brought a third place ribbon and cash prizes for one of her earlier works “Blue Splash”. First and third places went for Deb’s pieces in 2017 and again in 2019 for Longmont Artistist Guild shows. “A Rose By…” was chosen out of over 500 international artist submissions to exhibit in Loveland’s Lincoln Gallery in 2019. Deb has a published piece in the magazine “Living the Photo Artistic Life” in 2019.Her works are hanging in several local and area galleries and venues.
Deb Nakano has a background in Property Management and Risk Management Inspections for Insurance companies. Just two of the several occupations including newspaper ‘publishereditor and graphic designer that have led this photo artist into producing enhanced digital pieces from thousands of original photographs taken during the pursuit of her businesses and travels. Her art education includes art classes taken through Denver’s Auraria campus, teaching art at Cherry Creek’s Overland High School and many ongoing on-line classes.
Deb is a member of Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA), Longmont Artists’ Guild (LAG) and active in the Lefthand Artist Group in Longmont. She publishes her works on Fine Art America, several related FB pages and her web site, www.deb.nakano-pixels.com along with several other on-line showcases.
