There are moments in a person’s life when she knows life is changing forever. That moment came for me in the summer of 1972, when I back-packed through Europe as a history student with my friend Terry. I came home with a burning desire to become a painter. I had always loved making art since I was a child, and that seed got its huge dose of watering during those 11 weeks of visiting all the art treasures of the continent.
I’ve been drawing and painting since I began to study art in the 70s! I fell in love with anything ART. First I wanted to be the next Degas. Then a famous illustrator like Bernie Fuchs. Something happened after many years of painting, practicing to be Degas and Bernie, and doing art jobs.
I discovered there was only one artist who could paint like the things I kept envisioning and drawing, over and over again. That was me.
So once I gave myself permission to create the art I most loved to create, the floodgates opened, and I began to really enjoy painting and drawing.
Now I am sharing that art with everyone, via selling paintings and teaching other artists how to pursue their own dreams, be it very big, or as a wonderful part of their search for a balanced life that includes art.
