Call them “Secrets of secrets” as Diane Arbus did, or “Life as it happens” as Robert Frank did or perhaps “Between the idea and the reality – falls the shadow” TS Eliot did. (edited).
These all describe in their own way what photography is, as I pursue it. The aim is to bring the viewer ‘There’ into the photograph – I am just the messenger – the viewers experience is their own, be it, “that is… beautiful, scary, disgusting, informative, provocative, I never knew that, that reminds me of, I don’t understand, I don’t care.”
Reaction is the intention.
