About the project
A native of Longmont, I live in Longmont and maintain a studio at the Firehouse Art Center. I am a plein-air painter with most of my work done on location. My paintings often reflect trips that I have taken. My most recent trip was an eight-day raft trip down the Grand Canyon with a group of artists in May this year. The exhibit will include paintings done on this trip.
Watercolor is my medium of choice because of its spontaneity and freshness. Capturing a mood or feeling about a particular place or subject and sharing this impression with the viewers is of primary importance to me.
I am a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and have had my paintings juried into several national shows.
Painting has taught me to be more observant and appreciate the beauty around me.
