SOUTH GALLERY – GUEST CURATED BY JANELLE W. ANDERSON (2022):
RAYMUNDO MUNOZ, GABRIELLA TRUJILLO, MYAH MAZCARA
Janelle W. Anderson invites three Denver-based artists to exhibit in the Firehouse Art Center South Gallery, accompanying her solo exhibit with works that emphasize narrative and memory.
Raymundo Munoz’ linoleum prints execute a visual expression of the passage of time: repeating a stamped block pressed in one inking. Resembling a sound that fades with distance, presenting an image which contains its own mortality. Exhibited alongside Munoz’ printed zine work.
Munoz is co-curator of Alto Gallery in Denver.

Gabriella Trujillo is a professional illustrator whose recent paintings explore an expressive sense of place and personality.

Myah Mazcara uses muted tones and supernatural imagery to create noir scenes from a larger narrative. Each series is compromised of parts of an ongoing story with intersecting characters and overlapping themes – not a puzzle to be solved but an environment to inhabit.
Mazcara is co-owner and curator of Sally Centigrade Gallery in Denver.
