STUDIO 64: SYDNEY SCHWINDT- TRUE EDGE ART

Sydney Schwindt (she/her) is an artist and illustrator from Gunbarrel, Colorado. Though she has been doing visual arts for the most of her life, she has spent the majority of her professional career as an actor and fight director. She believes these mediums go hand in hand as they are all about observing and interpreting life around you. When all of the theaters were shut down in 2020, Sydney had the opportunity to dive into her visual work in a way she had never had time for before. Thus, True Edge Art was born.

What happens when we break open the truth and explore what is inside? It is presented in bold, bright colors. We’re forced to look at our own guts – both beautiful and weird, soft and mysterious, dangerous and gooey. I want to celebrate the  boldness and freedom of truth. The connection between the human and the natural world that lies within all of us. The symbolism of flowers and plants enrich our understanding of ourselves. Exploration through a dark, unbridled whimsy.
