Blake Welch is a Colorado-based artist, working primarily in oils, graphite and charcoal. After starting his career (30 years) in the design/advertising industry (from staff designer at Better Homes & Gardens – to owning Welch Creative Group, a successful Denver ad agency) — he now spends his time drawing and painting — when he’s not teaching graphic design at Front Range Community College in Longmont.

Artist Statement:
I have a broad range of interests that are reflected in my variety of subjects and mediums (oil, charcoal, graphite, pastel). From highly-detailed, large-scale graphite portraits of people and wildlife to oversized oils of mountain streams and landscapes to miniatures of barns and the southwest… each varied subject selects its own scale and medium.
