As an artist I work in ceramic, pastel, and printmaking. My drawings are usually landscapes of the Colorado foothills, and accounts of my travels in the country and abroad.
My ceramic work is often surrounded around the idea of containment, using various vessel forms as a starting point. Sometimes this idea is extended into the mythical and natural worlds, mixing both realistic and magical figures in one scenario.
I have taught middle school art In Longmont for 27 years.
I live in Boulder, CO, where I live with my wife and two children. I have built my own studio, made from straw bales.
